Angie Tingle

Colorado Springs based artist Angie Tingle is best known for her ability to magnify the natural beauty that surrounds her, recreating the simple with great detail and integrity, causing an image to thrive on paper.

Her favorite medium is a vast array of pencils, often accentuated with gentle touches of watercolor, and oils.  Angie’s technique was perfected at the Denver Botanic Gardens School of Art and Illustration and further developed at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy.

A naturalist with a unique ability to capture the glory of God’s creation, Angie’s work speaks boldly and simply, reflecting the beauty that surrounds all of us.

Natural Beauty is captivating.

My art

Natural beauty captivates me. It is my heart’s desire to record it and to share it with others. My eye is caught by light on form, causing an everyday piece of creation to become an object of beauty.  My favorite mediums are graphite, watercolor, and oils. Sometimes, I use two or more of these mediums in one piece to show process.

I began my journey as an artist in a Texas high school where I took art three hours a day for three years.  I earned a BFA from Oklahoma State University.  Then, I became a wife and mother and homemaker for many years.  During that time, I taught private art lessons in our Colorado mountain home.  As the children grew and left home, I began taking classes in botanicals in 2009 and graduated from the Denver Botanic Gardens School of Botanical Art and Illustration in 2014. In 2018 I had the opportunity to further developed my technique at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy.

The Studio

Thank you for joining me here! I love sharing this space with creatives of all ages! I especially enjoy watching the delight of discovery when someone’s creativity surprises them. This studio was designed to exude a peaceful creativity, a safe space, a beautiful place to practice the disciplines of art. The uncomplicated approach of children in their art is inspiring. So, adults as well as children are always welcome here.
